Hello All,

I recognize some names from another forum, so hey guys!
I've just entered into two new worlds at the same time with the purchase of a sweet sixteen 'Field Grade' L.C. Smith. My first 'proper' double and my first 16 bore.

I'm headed down to a very talented smith/restoration guy in the morning to open the tubes up a wee and give me an eval on the state of the gun and on some things I'm thinking of having done at seasons end.
I intend on shooting a bunch of shot through it, in the general direction of grouse and woodcock, this coming season before parting with her again for some 'gussying' up.

I'm more scared that Rev is, as we speak, engraving Nekkid Tims on his side plates.

Nice gun.

The deck needs to be stained though. It kinda looks like mine.

PGG--
That is Ted Moore's deck, but mine is similar in appearance.
I brought the Elsie to the smith today for a full eval and to have the chokes opened to .005 and .015 and a nicer pad installed.

Sergey said, "it has been used very little" and "the stock looks like a professional refin job--very nice".
It is very tight and in awesome shape!

I am pleased.

We are going to discuss some minor cosmetic foolery later.

Thuddd did have a good idea and it didn't involve nudes.

Thuddddddd a good idea? I doubt that. Razz

I think to finish the 'ole gal off you need to have matching pics of a nice Drahthaar holding a pheasant in it's mouth engraved on each plate in gold.
Now that would set it off nicely. Wink
