OK-here's the deal. Can't say I'm particularly enthusiastic about parting with this gun, but the Parker Putzum are aware that I've acquired a non-LC 12g (oh the shame Embarassed

) for my primary KS and S. Dakota pheasant gun. I traded for this LC with William Larkin Moore 10/06 and it's been my go-to preserve and clay target gun. Busting Clays saw it in Russell last Dec. I'm not really comfortable with internet gun sales, and the last thing I want are bad feelings from another Society member (or toward them.) I doubt if I'd ship it to someone I didn't 'know' from their posts on the Board.

1911 00E with 30" brls choked .006 and .014. Chambers lengthened and forcing cones extended. DAH 3 1/8" with LOP 14 3/8" including a .6" Decelerator pad. Weighs 6# 10 oz and balances on the pin. Old restock with very nice wood and an oil finish and at that time the brls were re-blued and done well. Dan Lammers here in Phoenix did a check and clean, cleaned up the screws, tightened the lock-up (it was not off-face but the top lever is now well right of center), and glasbedded the stock. No cracks around the lockplates. As Dr 16g might recall, I found to my distress in Russell that the recoil from pheasant loads would shift the safety from the forward position to the center 'On' position (it has the pre-1913 3-position safety) Dan fixed that and I had him disconnect the automatic safety link so it wouldn't return to 'On Safe' with opening the gun. It has a red 'Flame Sight' front sight which is a small fiberoptic tube sight. The original front sight was a press fit brass bead, so the hole is now threaded. I have a letter from Cody and unfortunately it was not ordered by Brittany Spears granny Rolling Eyes

It's a wonderful all-around 'shooter' that's had everything done, but not a collector gun. Thought I'd give the Society a chance before taking it over to William Larkin Moore and putting it on consignment.

CF16- no brother; all the low-life philistines I hunt with in S. Dakota use black plastic Benelli SBEs, but it's a classic American SxS made in 1908 Very Happy

Rev: I am relieved to hear that! Nothing wrong with a 12 when the situation calls for it. But a plastic SBE is an abomination in the uplands. I do think a 16ga Monefeltro would be pretty cool. Very Happy

I don't know revdoc well - but what I do know I like.
I will say this, nobody sells a gem like that without a good reason. He's got some project in mind. Either that or too many guns to enjoy them each enough and he felt guilty- which I doubt.

Another Society member had some up close and personal fondle time with this sweetie today and decided they were made for each other Cool

No, no projects planned. I've been trying hard, as the opportunity came up, to clean things out to have a few nice 'shooters' that I enjoy and shoot well. My 'youngest' will be 100 next year, all are well used if not abused, but each is a delight to carry and shoot, and I'm honored and thankful to have them. I must be getting old Wink

Rev, it is tough to see an old friend like your Elsie go, but sometimes it makes sense to send them on their way. I just sent my beloved Rem M-32 to another home today. I really liked the old gun, but it was choked wrong for prairie birds and weighed too much now that I am officially a senior citizen. I will just have to make do with my Merkel 1620 and the Jeffery 2.5" 12ga. Very Happy
