Anyone have any recommendations for a good gunsmith in the Twin Cities?

It's that time of year again when I put away the hunting gear as the season has finally ended for this hunter and his dog. Over the years I've kicked around the idea of having a gunsmith do a final year-end professional cleaning before I put the guns away. This season included some hunting trips in nasty weather so maybe it's worth having them done. Like many of us I pride myself in keeping a well maintained gun but I'll be the first to admit I'm a far cry from a professional when it comes to cleaning - and now I have three guns that need it so I thought maybe I would look into the benefits of taking them to a professional gunsmith.

I have used Odenthal as well, for work on my 391 Tekny sporting clays gun (extending the forcing cone, porting). I was pleased with his work and vary fast turn around of just a few days. I wanted him to also lengthen the forcing cones of my 16ga, but he is not tooled for 16ga internal barrel work.

I have had Bob work on a couple of my guns. He does a good job and tells you like it is. He also does not screw around with time lines. He gives you a day work will be complete and it's done on that day or before plus Bob has 2 german wirehairs Very Happy

I sent a 12 gauge m12 to ahlmans in morristown to have a new barrel fitted and sent it back 3x and it still was'nt right had to sent it to another gunsmith Mark Miller in montgomery Mn he still has a m94 I dropped off in September Rolling Eyes

Pat Laib in Spicer MN has a really good reputation I have never sent anything to him but I know alot of guys who send him high dollars firearms and I have never heard them say a bad thing about his work

Lee Christianson across the river at Baldwin, Wis does good work. He's just south of the interstate. I've not had him do anything for me but saw some of his blueing work that was outstanding. I have his number around here somewhere if I can only find it....RD
