Just like to say Hello and that I hope I can contribute to a few topics on this forum.
I have just purchased a Baikal 16ga Hammergun, my second Baikal 16ga and third 16ga Hammergun. My preference is rabbit eared guns but then I'm just a tad old fashioned 1948 model from across the Pond! |

| Welcome Mate! I worked with several blokes from England in Iraq. Had lots of good gun talk with them. I have a Bakial 16 ga single shot. I like her. |

I'm new to the forum and waiting for my FFL to call and tell me my Marlin 90 16ga is here... first 16 and first O/U. Old dogs can learn new tricks. |

Dang, you two are old farts. I'm a quite new January 1st 1949 model myself 
I also like rabbit eared guns so this past December I bought an ~1864 Joseph Lang rebarreled by James Woodward in the late 1870's or early 1880's in damascus as a 16 bore. I've toted it hunting a couple of times and it's got a few more quail to its credit and I'm taking it out after quail again next Wednesday. If only the old girl could talk I'd bet she'd have some tales to tell. |

| Sputtergbug, I hope you enjoy that new gun. I had been watching it and running through my mind, "ok, what can I sell to buy that". The fact I used up all my gun budget to get an L. C. Smith in 16 ga. right before Christmas probably had a lot to do with it. I have enjoyed the Smith so far. Hope you enjoy yours as much. |

Thank you for the feedback and best wishes. Had I been more patient perhaps I would have found one for $100 less or so. I apologize for pulling the rug out from under you, but I'm a little relieved that at least one other person was eyeballing it
I'm sure you'll enjoy that Elsie. My next gun is either another 90 or a SxS. I'm afraid I should slow down already, yet I only own two shotguns so I have a lot of catching up to do.
Then there is the quest for 16 ga ammo...

I'm just glad I know who got the gun. You pulled no rug.
I routinely watch about four sites, just to see what is available, mostly 16 ga. IMHO that was the best 16 ga. Model 90 out there for the money. I once got a Ranger version of this gun on a trade and never shot it much. Then I got a new son in law who admired it. He actually wanted a 16 ga., so who was I to deny him the pleasure. Anyway, he traded it on something else, so that's the end of that story. He has stayed with 16 ga. and now shoots a DeHaan.
A 16 ga. Elsie with 26 inch barrels has been on the top of my list for some time now, and now I have it. Weighs about 6.5 lbs. So far I love it.

Found out that there were other demented people on board. That made me feel welcome.
Now I find that I am not the only old fart. I am a 1948 model myself.
