Its not a 16, but its a good one

Simson 20/76, engraved boxlock, straight stock, double trigger, ejectors, indicators, 68 cm barrels (26 3/4") and 14 1/2 LOP. 95% on the bluing, very few handling marks. Mechanics and engraving identical to Merkel 147E.

That's a nice gun, and looks like it's in great condition. At that price, I'm surprised that it hasn't already sold.

I'm not sure if everyone knows, but Simsons and Merkels were made side by side, on the very same assembly line. Wood to metal fit, engraving, and wood, are all the same.

Jon ... can you post the weight? I'm assuming the gun is Mod / full? Let everyone know for sure.

I'll give you another bump here. I wish the gun had a pistol grip. I can't shoot those straight stocked things. Crying or Very sad

One thing I've learned is no gun will please everyone!! Because its a 20/76, the weight is 6lb 7oz and its choked IC and Full. I like Simsons-lived in Germany many years and they are a great deal even today. Merkels have gotten so pricey. Some of the pre-war Simsons were works of art just like the Merkels or Sauers. I used to drive up to Suhl just to go through the shops--couldn't afford 90% of it but what artwork.
