Maybe a cheap alternative the Bismuth so we wont have to worry about what the politicals are going to do to our hunting |

Any new 16 ga. guns or stuff will be great and a step in the right direction.
But one of the biggest things holding the shooting fraternity back from re-discovering the unique advantages of the gauge is the lack of a good quality reloadable hull on par with the old AA and current Premier. I just signed up for a local skeet league and will shoot only my 16, as would others i suspect except it's just so much easier to fall in line with the 12's and 20's. We have to scrounge RGL's and others, endure hotter loads just to get the hulls, and then put up with inferior hull life and reloadability. It's all for a good reason, to shoot a gauge with handling qualities and score performance on par (or better in terms of gun weight, handling etc.)with all of the other gauges. But the12's and 20's come without the hassle. I think of that when trying to get one more load out of my burned up, cracking, inferior plastic, cheaply built RGL's. I'm sometimes tempted to switch to a 20 ga. and have smooth as silk long lasting hulls to work with but I'm hanging in for now. My model 12 is just too good to give up and crushes the targets comfortably with 3/4 oz. loads.
Your unselfish good work is much appreciated Charles. By the way, I'll finally soon get to see what you're talking about with the Marlin 90. I'm going to borrow my buddy's mint 16 and 20 to try out on skeet but they're not for sale. I'll let you know what I think. |
