'47 Sweet 16, 26" MOD. I guess it's an interesting mix of features with front safety, 2 3/4" chamber and lack of Sweet Sixteen engraving. This gun is in very nice shape, not NIB but very presentable. Pic sort of makes it look like the forearm is oil soaked, but it isn't. Blueing is just a bit thin on hard edges, end of barrel, and the "collar" at the base of the barrel where it meets the receiver (don't know technical term), otherwise it's pretty much intact. Nice pointable gun at 6lb 12oz with typical A5 balance with a lot of weight towards the stock (or seemingly so anyway).

The forend has no cracks or repairs, stock shows only very minor handling marks and finish is good. Horn buttplate is still intact with one insect hole.

I'd like to keep this gun as I personally don't see Sweet Sixteens in this condition, but the truth is I don't shoot it very much and can't afford a "safe queen" at this time.

Price is $1000obo, plus $25 shipping (insurance included).

How do you know it's a sweet 16?
Looks like an A-5 from the pictures?

Hole in the barrel ring, machined scalloping on the inside of the receiver.

Thank you for the info, that stuff couldn't be seen in your pictures.

This is what I refer to as a "Stealth" Sweet.

The gold on the trigger and safety are pretty obvious in the picture. They always are that bronze color on guns from this era.

I think it is a fine looking example and will handle like greased lightening with that 26" barrel.

It may feel light in the muzzle but in this gun the weight is almost all between your hands making it feel lighter than it really is.
