English Setter, mostly Ryman in his line. I hunt mostly ruufs, doodles and roosters but am planning a trip to MT this fall for blue grouse, sharpies, thunder chicken, huns, etc.

Katie-- 5year old English Setter & a 5 1/2lb British 16g SxS ch .018 & .028 for all prarie birds.

Megan-- 14 month old WPG, anything with wings. If we are in heavy cover I use a 20g Greener ch .003 & .030 or a SxS muzzle loader.

Hey Chorizo.......
Thanks again for the Bota info. I found another place that had them and ordered straight from Madrid. It was actually less $, even with shipping.
Here is my old faithful purchased in 1973 that finally sprung a leak last year. Almost 35 years, not bad. It was a sad day.

This is where I got the new one....

No intent to hijack this excellent thread folks, just wanted to thank Chorizo. A quality wineskin is an essential after-hunt accessory!

Labs and nothing but !

My Labs have taken me hunting for:
Geese
Ducks
Pheasant
Woodcock
Ruffed Grouse
Huns
Snipe

In addition my current Lab has flushed several dozen wild turkey. Under state law we can not hunt them in my area with a dog. I believe she thinks they are Mega pheasants and I always get dirty looks from her when I don't shoot!!

Once had a pair of Labs and called them Thundering Herd 2.

I have a GSP, but don't hunt him. I don't have the time to work with him to get him up and going. Just keeping him run and in shape is almost a part time job. My wife has a weimeriner. They are just for companionship.

I have hunted Preserve quail and pheasnt behind GSP's. I also hunt dove some. I was going to work this summer with my GSP and see if I could get him over his gunshy ways and see if he could be any use with doves. That was before he had an accident, so not sure now. He has lost most of the muscle mass on his left side of his face. Cheek bone is standing out now, and the masseter and temporalis has been lost almost completly due to nerve damage.
