I need help with my crimping on my PW375 and Fiocchi hulls.
Here's my formula
Fiochi 2 3/4" hull
win 209 primer
20.5 grains universal clays powder
Z16 BP wad
1 oz shot.
Everything is good through the crimp start station and then everything goes crazy.
Can somebody give me a step by step way of getting the crimp die dialed in to give me a servicable crimp?
I've loaded 12 ga shells with this same loader that are perfect. But I'm having a terrible time with the Fiocchi hulls.
Thanks |

Could you be a little more specific?
Is the crimp dishing?
Is the hull crushing?
How far from the case mouth is the top of the shot?
If your wad/shot column is close to being the correct height your 375 will give you great looking loads. |

I'm not sure that I have all the answers but found several things that helped
1. I skivved the hulls deeper (further into the hull) than "normal".
2. Dropped the crimp starter down till the hulls where almost closed (approx. 1/4 inch or less opening)
3. Used an overshot card.
4. Made sure the hulls where warm (a few minutes in a cloth bag in the dryer).
5. Removed some debris from the crimp starter.
Hope this all helps.
BTW, the above assumes once fired 2 3/4 shells loaded okay to start with.

Is the crimp dishing? Yes
Is the hull crushing? No
How far from the case mouth is the top of the shot? about .6"

OK your shot/wad column is not tall enough. Put a couple .125 28 gauge card wads in the shot cup before you add the shot or add enough soft filler such as puffed wheat, puffed rice or cheerios on top of the shot to fill the case to about 3/16th of and inch from the case mouth. You also might try replacing the Z wad with a SG16/Gualandi 1621 wad to more completely fill the hull. |

Is the SG16 and the Gualandi 1621 the same wad? |

If you decide to start shooting 7/8th ounce loads the Gualandi 2025 wad in the Reminton Game Load hulls with 17 grains of Unique make a super light target/Quail load with out a filler. |

Winchester 209. Should give you a MV of about 1150 fps and a chamber pressure around 6500 psi. |
