I have an interesting problem: I have over 5000 remington r16 wads. That's a problem that probably won't cause many tears anywhere, but here on California's Central Coast, 16 ammo is VERY thin on the ground. All the 16 ga. ammo I can find use Riefenhausen-type hulls, and the Rem wads rattle around in these hulls like a BB in a boxcar.
I can mail order some Rem ammo, but before I do so, I'd like to know if any of them are compression formed, and will work with the wads I have. Anyone have recent experience with Remington ammo? |

Unfortunately no one is making a compression formed hull for the 16 gauge any longer. The R16 wad is what Remington loads in the one ounce Game Load shell. The Remington SP hulls (both Green Express and Black Game Load) have a slightly smaller interior diameter than the Cheddite or Fiocchi hull. |

My thanks to both of you gentlemen for the insight. Seems like I'm suddenly in the market for some Remington hulls. |

Any interest in swapping some of your wads for some once-fired RGL black hulls? I've been looking for some R16's but not had much luck. Also have other once-fired hulls if you're not looking for RGL. thanks
