It has come to our attention from the preliminary testing being
done at Hodgdon Powders that "Nice Shot" has a higher chamber
pressure than an equal lead load.
We would indicate the loader may substitute "Nice Shot" for any
loads where pressures are at least 1500 psi less than the maximum
for that gauge in lead.
Complete loading data will be available when testing is finished.

Thanks for that info. I am using it in an old parker 2.5" chambers, so I had pressure low anyway. Adding that increase in pressure puts me at about the limit I want to stay under with the gun. Certainly I would have some room at the top left, but just being cautious with the old girl, and keeping pressures manageable.
As in some past posts, I even went from 1 oz in the load to 7/8oz which further reduced pressure.
Haven't loaded any in 2.75 yet. Pressure not as crucial there. |

What is it about nice shot that would explain the increase in pressure over chilled shot of equal weight? What size pellets were tested in what loads using which powders? Any filler added to the shot column? |

Maybe I'm dumber than the average Bear but how does lack of "lubricity" have any effect on pressure when the shot charge is insulated from the bore by the petals of the wad? Or are you not using a wad with protective petals? |

The shot also rubs against itself as it goes down the bore, especially through the forcing cone and choke. Even with protection by wad petals lubricity still matters. |

Does Nice Shot come with any oil or graphite on it? Would applying any lubricant help? BPI's mica dust? |

| Nice Shot doesn't have any coating or graphite on the shot but using a light dusting of dry graphite or mica dust would probably help. |
