What in the world is happening! I have never had any problems with this combo. I'm on my 3rd rotation of reloading these hulls with the Win 209 primer and suddenly every 4th or 5th shell is having the primers literally falling out. Glad I found out before I took these shells out into the field. Any and all advive would be appreciated!

Regards

Looks like my solution is going to the Fed 209A primer - a friend told me it's a touch larger than the win 209.

I had this same problem a year ago with Cheddite hulls and Win. primers.
I haven't changed anything, and they finally stopped falling out.
I don't believe the Fed. 209A primer is any bigger, just hotter.

I had trouble with some of the cheddite hulls. I bought the tool. A couple of good raps and everything is tight again.

Rick,

Instead of going to the Fed 209A primers, try the Fiocchi primers. They are a tad larger than the Winchesters, and cost a bit less, too.

I have been using the primer pocket conditioning tool for some time with success. I have some very old 16ga Winchester hulls that have needed a litle help to extend their usefullness. It works well...

I ordered one of the primerpocket conditioning tools. Win 209 primers are loose in Fiochi hulls and I have a good supply of both.

Do not substitute the Federal 209A primers for the Winchester 209 primers. The Federal's are a hotter primer and it could increase your pressure to dangerous levels.
