I visited a local sporting goods dealer near home after work today. He's had a small stash of 16 ga. Remington SP16 1 1/8 oz. wads on hand, gathering dust, for probably 6 to 8 years. There were 2 bags of 250, each in their respective Remington plastic bag. One bag had a $5.95 price tag. I asked, "do you get much traffic for 16 ga. components?" He replied that these were dated inventory and, by God, he would just sell me both bags for $6 total in cash out the door....as they say, a deal was struck....
When I got home, I went to the Internet and priced the wads on Graf's and then Midway's websites where I found the going price for these is more like $11.29/bag of 250...usually, I'm not this lucky...

CitoriFeather: Sure wish I didn't have to spend the time at it, because I really would prefer not to spend extra time in that way, but I do reload some, especially for 16 ga. skeet. I really like the 16 ga. Rem Express 1 1/8 oz. factory #5's and #6's for pheasants and sharptails and the Bismuth factory loads for ducks, so I don't reload my hunting ammo.

I use Green Dot for target loads in 28, 20, and 16 ga. and Win. 209 primers for all shotshell reloading. What very little 12 gauge target shooting I do, I mostly use Rem. 1 oz. Game Loads in 7 1/2 or # 8 for. BUT that gray 12 ga. WAASL 7/8 oz wad, Green Dot and 7/8 oz. of hard #9's are a great soft 12 ga. load, too.
