I just loaded about 400 NEW Fiochi hulls with my standard light load for clays. I now find that they will chamber in 2 of my doubles, only with great difficulty. They are bulged, not visibly, at the wad section. I have not had this problem in the past...Have loaded LOTS on the same machine with the same components...Wha Hoppen? |

LD check to see if the shell mouth is "belled" out which is the most common cause of difficulty in loading. If it is adjust your crimp die down until as it closes the hull it imparts a slight taper to the case mouth.
If all of your oaded shells are "belled" run them through a roll crimp tool to taper the case mouth. |

Last Dollar, I too have had this problem with Fiochhi hulls. I adjusted the cam on Mec 600 jr Mark V, per an instructions sheet from the BPI website. This solved my problem. IF you are using the same press: what I did was loosen the allen head screw on the final crimp adjuster, rotate the cam clockwise as much as possible and then re-tightened the allen head screw.
Let us know what you discover.
Best of Luck ! |
