Hmmm---You know I have seen a several single stage loaders for sale over the years but can't recall a progresive for sale---something to think about Last I knew MEC only made the 9000 as a special order and the Grabbers were only made in a limited number |

blrmkr83,
While I am sure that you could find a used 16 Ga - 9000G or Grabber, do yourself a favor and buy a new reloader.
Used progressives in my experience are nothing but headaches, unless you have a fair amount of knowledge regarding the adjustment and replacement of worn or damaged parts.
The other option would be to buy it at a really low price and send it to MEC for a complete once over. MEC is very reasonable on parts and their service is first rate. |

I've bought three used Grabbers and I bought my 16 gauge Grabber new. My three used ones all work as well as the new one. The smoothest one I have is a 12 gauge "Model 76" (old model) Grabber I bought for $100. I did replace a couple parts, but it's smooth as silk.
Sold my 20 gauge Grabber some time back (who needs a 20 when you've got light 16's)
Tony I might be selling my 28 gauge Grabber. Not sure if that would work for you but I'm only 2.5 hours downriver of the Twin Cities. Meet ya in Red Wing or something. |

Same here Dave. I still have my first 76 Grabber. It is the smoothest running one I own. I've loaded a gazillion trap and skeet rounds on it. I bought it used from the original Orange County Trap Club in the early 1980's. It was their club reloading machine. The manager rebuilt it and sold it to me very reasonably. He loaded a gazillion trap rounds on it before he sold it.
The reloader has never broken anything including the Plastic Spindex crimp starter which was installed during the rebuild. the only part I regularly replace when it is worn out is the rubber grommet under the shot bottle. They cost very little and help reduce wear and tear to the machine. these MEC Grabbers are bullet proof. They wear in, not out. Period. |
