I wish these new owners much success! I have always liked the bottom eject and am thrilled that I can get one of these on a true 16ga frame. I'm saving my chips to get one from Santa Clauss. Too much of our heritage has fallen away. Another American Company building a really classy gun can only help us all .

I hope that they can make a go of it! Aside from the M37, the've indicated that they may try to bring back the NID and the Lewis model with some modifications.

This is my first post. Thanks for such a wonderful site. I am excited about the new Ithaca. They will be the only "true" 16 gauge producer of a pump gun. If they will fill to the ninche crowd they will do o.k. I know that I for one will buy a new model 37. I spoke with them last week and they said it would be this Sept. or Oct. before they will be avail. I have shot autos., o/u's, and sxs, as well as pumps and I have to say for an all around hunting gun I probably shoot the pump better than any. In the past 2 years I have taken 3 quail on a covey flush and 2 grouse on the same point with a 12 ga. BPS. The BPS has been a wonderful gun and I find myself hunting with it more than my citori however I am getting older and it is getting heavier, so yeah I am in the market for a 37 16 ga. If Ithaca will "cater" to bird hunters, for example sponsor RGS, or become involved in the newly formed quail forever I think that it would be a very good marketing "ticket" for them. |

There isn't a bunch of difference actionwise between the Model 37 and the Browning BPS. Both are slicker than greased eels. Incidentally, I had my 1960's RVD model with the new 24" tubed barrel out for skeet this morning. This gun is rapidly becoming a favorite. I'm finding the forward motion of the forearm helps to naturally point towards an outgoing bird. I can't wait for a brace of pheasant to go up for me this fall. Dead a pair. |

The Browning has a pot metal trigger group, and is a piece of dung compared to the Ithaca.
Best,

As most of us have come to understand, Ted does not like Miroku products... but dung? Geez Ted...tell us how you really feel. |

I feel the same way the magnet feels when you place it on the BPS's trigger group-no attraction.
Best
