Nick, this gun is a twin for my first 16 bore SxS. Your gun is made in Spain by Zabala Hermanos for an Importer back in the 90's. It is now imported by Tri Star. I still have mine and it is a solid gun for anyone wanting a nice clays or waterfowl gun. It is a bit heavy for toting in the field all day but I still do it on occasion. The safety is of the H type Browning style, and the wood finish is a satin synthetic that is very durable. It comes with three choke tubes I/C,M,&F. There are aftermarket chokes available, however they will have to be measured due to the threads being different due to the change at the Zabala factory. Truluck is your best bet. Call them for information.
Somebody better jump on this one! |

Should have done this in the first place but time was short so I put it off .
4 Chokes with the gun .016 ,.018 , .028 , .043
DAC 1.375" Measured at the very end of comb , where you put your face it measures 1.48" DAH 2.0625" LOP 14" Weight 7lbs 1.5 oz
28" barrels
Gun points very nice , shoots very good , only one thing wrong with it , "SINGLE TRIGGER "
Good Duck , Dove , Target gun but I would never carry it in the uplands , too heavy and lacking a trigger .
Thanks for all the interest , should have posted the important info first but I hope this helps out everyone interested .
This gun was at one time our very own OSL and Ash Goodwin's Gun , just how I ended up with it , don't ask me " Smiling "
Regards , Charles |

I'll chime in here to confirm Charles' description of the gun. I bought it new in 2006 at Cabela's while passing through the Fort Worth area. My thought was to make it my duck shooter 16 SXS for my expeditions to "Booger Swamp USA" down in the eastern part of the state on the Cache and White river bottoms. It sure will slam ducks dead with a 1 oz load of bismuth!
However, as some of you gents know, I have had a problem develop over the last couple years with a middle-age eye-dominance shift to center. Since then I found I really struggle to shoot SXS models as consistently as semi-auto's or O/U's. So I sold this gun, along with every other SXS in my safe, save one 12 ga target model for occasional sporting clay shoots.
The fancy recoil pad (to accomodate my 15 1/4 LOP) and hi-viz sight were added by my gunsmith and he also did a minor adjustment to make the trigger nice and crisp. Ash, Charles and myself all have a tendency to take pretty good care of our guns, so condition should be as described by Charles.
I will say that Charles and I are good friends, but I have no interest in this transaction at all except to add whatever info I can to that entered by Charles and Brent, for any board buddies who may be interested. (Then again, if this one sells right before the Flatwater Shoot and Charles is flush with cash...I'm gonna hit him up for a glass of single malt after dinner!!) |
