I went to a gun show today, and while I wasn't looking for a semi-auto, I traded a Mosin-Nagent, a box of ammo for same and $25 for a Remington "The Sportsman" 16ga. It's Remington's licensed version of John Browning's A5 (same as a Model 11, but with a 3 shot capacity). I think mine is early production of the 16ga., serial number 209,xxx with the serial numbers starting at 200,000.
Thanks to you who replied and messaged me. I'm now a 16 gauge-er!

It's nothing for me to bring a gun into Canada but getting one out of the US is a pain, for everyone involved.

I realize that you're talking about either shipping or bringing a gun in for a sale, and how that might be a hassle; at the least, it would mean a tax bite (and we think we have it bad in the States!), but I've always been a bit amazed by how lax Canadian customs can be with regard to firearms.
I've been visiting a friend's cabin in Ontario north of the Soo, and we really haven't had a problem bringing guns in; we always have the forms preprinted (they're available online) and filled out, and all they want is the fee at customs-- they've never even looked at the guns to verify that they are what we say they are.
Maybe we just look honest.
