Greg, that's a great thing you are doing and should be an example and inspiration for many of us. Thanks!
BTW, I don't want to know anything about the gun except that which you have already posted. I'm not a candidate and your terms were clearly explained. Stick to your plan. |

Why is it that you only come to this forum to sell your guns ? all your posts are in the "for sale" section. do you participate in any other way? Do you even have a son? |

I specialize as a hobby in drillings, but after having a few combo guns damaged in the mail I do only face to face transactions.. I like this site because you guys are the real deal you know what the correct "square load" gauge is and preach its sermon. So I figured this would be a good place to search. You know a grouse hunter is a step above and beyond your normal woodsman. I have one son only and he is a great person in every way but not a gun nut like myself. He is more into business than the woods. He is single. I have not run into any young people out in the grouse woods, where are they ? I will be putting some pics and specs into a photo drop box,
I wish this site could post a pic directly ,attached to a reply.
When I hand this gun to the new owner I look forward to showing him how to inspect a SxS. Ring the barrels, check face fit, striker protrusion, locks, doubling, so he can carry on his own, stuff the old timers showed me. |

My post was directed at 1steve7301 not greg.Greg I think your intentions are very honorable and I hope you are successful. I follow a simple principal to happiness,"To keep it you have to give it away" |

Images and measurements would definitely be helpful.

If I were closer, I'd surely be interested in more details on your Fox. Some days I don't feel like a young man, but at 41 many would consider me to be one.
I haven't had the pleasure of grouse hunting yet, but I have taken a few quail, pheasant and chukar. I belong to a local dog training club, and while my dog is really too old to train much now, I help out with others to learn as much as I can. I just acquired an Uggie Parker Hale for that purpose from another member here. A Sterlingworth was on the short list before the Uggie became available. Anyway If you PM me details I'd have more to go on..
Thanks |

I wish you would make a video of the SxS inspection method, post it to YouTube, and post the link here. I know some of those things and need to know the rest. Especially since some old gunner showed you. I listen to most everything old gunners say so I can learn more.
If that task is beyond your tech ability, get a youngster to do it for you. There are plenty of them around; you're probably related to a few.
Reno
Edit: Sorry, meant to add thanks in advance. |

There is a post of a SXS inspection on youtube. Midway had a british gunsmith do one. You just need to look for it. |
