I have a mint winchester mod 12 made in the 1950`s with a IC choke, I don`t hunt, but do shoot clays, what would be the best use for it? |

Great gun! Use it and enjoy it. If you don't want it later on I would love one choked like that |

If it does eject your chosen shells why not shoot it at any clays game you enjoy? Mine's a Mod choked gun and although it's primarily a hunting gun for me I had a great time shooting 5-stand with it this year at a club where it was OK to shoot at pieces of clays you'd already broken. |

OK, now I understand,
I would use it for Dove hunting, quail hunting, duck hunting, pheasant hunting, skeet, trap, sporting clays, and all general tasks except goose and sandhill crane.
I seems to be the perfect hunting gun in these days of non-tox requirements.
Great gun

IMHO,
Improved Cylinder is the most versatile & perhaps under rated choke for a shotgun. |

encouraging info, may try it out. so far I use an IC A5 on skeet, a mod Ithaca 37 on trap and a marlin 90 on sporting clays, may try the winchester on 5 stand or may sell it for something choked more to my liking. Modified is my favorite. |

I'd be curious to know what your IC choke measures. The Modified 16ga M12 barrels I've measured have been .009-.011" |

I had mine opened to IC. Use it for everything. Find a good patterning shell or recipe, and have at it. If you consistently miss.....don't blame the choke. I've seen guys shoot 28ga. guns choked skeet/skeet all day long on a the sporting clays course and consistently hit in the 60's....and these guys are not clays specialists (no offence fellas). |
