I can't believe I made such a rookie mistake but:
1. I used the Win 209 primer instead of the Fed209A as instructed and
2. the 7/8oz # 5 nickle plated payload does not fit in the hull.
I primed/resized 100 rounds of 20 ga AA hull then charged with 22.5 gns of Blue Dot powder and used the WA-20 wad on all 100 rounds. I then loaded the shot on the first shell and found it did not fit. I tried loading a 3/4 oz load and it crimped perfectly. My question is:
Is there a load that could salvage the mess or should I just discard the entire 100 rds? It seems that age is catching up with me. I am still swinging though. Thanks so much, Tom |

Load the .75 oz load . That is the correct load for that wad. |

Yep, I'd just load them with 3/4 0z. of 7.5's or 8's and shoot them at the range, maybe smaller game birds. |

That charge of blue dot is actually for a 1oz load. It will shoot but will be sooty. |

I think the WAA20-1 wad is what you wanted for that load.
What press are you using that you did things in that order, rather than one hull, do all the steps?
Next time, I bet you'll do ONE as a sample. |

I found the recipe in Lyman 5th Edition in the 7/8 oz group. I somehow used the wrong primer(it was 4 o'clock this morning). I have since dismantled the shells and will try find a good load for nickel plated # 5 shot pheasant load for an upcoming trip to North Dakota. This load will be for my daughter. Any suggestions? I have AA hulls. Thanks, Tom |

You have several loads under the same AA 20 gauge recipe heading in Lymans 5th using HS-6, WSF or Longshot all of these should fit the 7/8 oz load and be a good choice with the components you have. |

Thank you to all for the help. This forum is my favorite of all sites. I have a new GSP (11 months old) and headed for North Dakota to begin this journey of a lifetime the first week of October. The excitement is almost overwhelming. I have have been north of San Antonio just a few times in my life. This is big. Thanks again, Tom |
