Well I am now 70 and the hoard of hulls/wads/shot/powder and primers looms large.
So I ended up with 3000+ Remington Black hulls, 6000+ Remington SP wads, and lots of Winchester WST powder.
I have lots of hunting ammo and so mostly reload skeet/quail/dove ammo with 7/8 ounce of shot.
So I engineered a load with the above components with the addition of one Cocoa Puff below the shot in each load.
All seems to be doing well, in A-5, Citori, Rem 1100. Rem 3200, Win Model 12, and others.
Have not tried side by sides as mine are all 65mm chambers.
Once I get through with SP wads, I will use the RPs then the Gualandi and DR wads in Fed, Win, and Cheddite hulls.

So!
70!
And still coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs!
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Regards,
Chuck |

The best/easiest solution is to shoot/hunt MUCH more than you currently do. |

The solution is simple, Mike. Just show me where to back in my truck. |

Wow, so when Dave's truck is full I'll be next in line.
Hmmm, what-ta-do? what-ta-do??...since you are/have; self proclaimed OCD, obviously a curious voracious mind, enjoy all aspects of shooting sports, a talented marksman, a slight lean toward hording, enjoy owning and using all types of weapons, assuming you are right handed...MAYBE start collecting left handed weapons and learn to shoot south paw, seems to me it would satisfy many of your penchants and accelerate your reduction of ammo inventory. Might need a larger safe though. |

You can never have too many components. I'm right behind you at 69.5 & still hunting. I'll never use up the wads & shot I have, but one of my sons and my hunting buddy are 16 ga. shooters and if I don't use this stuff, they will.

I'm right behind you at 69.5. Fortunately, I can still hunt (if my knee holds out). I'll never use up all the components I have acquired over the years (I once bought about a half a pick-up load of old card wads and components for $15), but my son and my hunting buddy both use 16's. What I don't shoot up, I'll pass on to them. By the way, I'm all into light guns these days and will be using a new A5 Sweet 16 for this upland season. |

What to do? Reinforce the floor as needed. Minimum of 4 inches of concrete, I'd say.
Happy shooting!

Skeetx,
Take up Snipe shooting. Your stash might last me a season or maybe two.

Hello Yule,
I tried Capt Crunch and they were not round enough or standard shape enough
Cocoa Puffs have much better usability
I shot a 25x25 last Thursday on my 71st Birthday at skeet with a 30 MPH wind.
What fun, what fun
