got the add yesterday - typical 10% off ... approx 125 bucks for 10# of 4,5,6 shot and approx 135 bucks for other sizes . code word Jolly ... Have a bogus end date and have been trying to get to them to fix it - will post when verified . (always free shipping orders over 99 bucks) |

How does the Rotometals bismuth compare to the old Bismuth brand that came in the little 7# jug, and to the bismuth shot manufactured by ASARCO? My supply is getting low and I may need some more before the '20-'21 season.

I can't recall the source of the Bismuth from my purchase about 10 years ago. Something rings a bell that it was an improvement from the early years of Bismuth. It cost about $15 per lb bag. The shot was closer to #5.5 instead of 6 and #4.5 instead of 5. Makes me think the Bismuth was made for the British market. Either way, I don't shoot it often but the performance always meet my expectations and a good option for my old double guns.
So the Roto Metal Bismuth is yet another formula "improvement" including correct US shot sizes, is that the correct perspective on the product? They also have 7/8/9 shot sizes which I don't recall being available the last time. I'll let Nick and his followers have the 8/9 shot but I might be interested in the 7 shot for the smaller upland birds. Is the code you provide an additional discount from the sale price ($149) listed on the website? Otherwise I'm confused on your reference to $135. |
