I retired a couple years ago and I'm shooting sporting clays more than in the past. With the ammo crunch I've decided to start shooting up my 16 gauge supplies which should last 5+ years and still leave me a good stash of hulls for my light SxS bird guns.
I'd been waiting for nearly a year for a 16 ga. Rizzini BR110 w/30" barrels I had on order, but there has been zero progress or new information. I then became aware of the Rizzini Competition 16 and noticed a couple dealers had one, so I cancelled the BR110 order and went for it.
It's a very nice shotgun and set up for clays with a target style stock (palm swell, etc.) and 30" barrels. Nice trigger, and the forend is slim, round, fully checkered with a black diamond inlay. It stands out in the rack, and just the horse I was seeking! My only nits are the grabby recoil pad (I'm a low-gun guy), and the fiber optic bead, but both can be changed. |

That looks real nice Dave. I remember seeing one of those on broker a while back, didn't last long. Pretty.

7 lbs. 4 oz. It's a little light for a target gun, but it's been eating my 1 oz Herter's loads just fine with minimal recoil. |

Dave.
Nice! When I first saw one of these advertised on GI recently, I remembered past treads on this site where folks were looking for Citori 525s with 30 or more inch barrels and it seemed to me that this gun would fill that niche beautifully. Good luck with your new toy--keep us posted. |

Thanks for the kind words. I'll shoot it for as long as I can feed it, then I'll most likely move on back to a 12 gauge for volume clay shooting. |

I had gone down the same path. As a matter of fact if the guys at Elite Shotguns would have returned my calls i would have bought one of those. It sure looks pretty.
I ended up ordering a customer setup from Upland Gun Company. There are options to get it close to a good clays gun on the online setup and then you can contact them for some other upgrades. I ended up with 32" barrels, palm swell, sporting grip and a few cosmetic touches. They will even build to your measurements. Cost is roughly the same as the Comp 16. The only problem is the 4 month wait time In the meantime I can live vicariously through others like you!!
Enjoy.

Sounds nice, Harry! You'll need to show to us when it arrives. I shot mine at super sporting this morning. It handles nicely and it's a joy to shoot. |

I am a bit jealous Dave Erickson. Beautiful shotgun. I have been considering one but didn't know what to expect. No excuses not to have one now!!
Thanks for the pics. |

Thanks, Mark. There is the option of 32" barrels. These 30"s swing well. |
