Does adding a nitro card over powder increase the pressure? What about over shot? |

Over the shot, no.
If you are putting a nitro card under a typical one-piece plastic wad that has an over powder cup, possibly if that nitro card wedges the obturating cup and creates more friction. Sometimes it is a nothing and sometimes it can create a pressure increase. If I wanted to raise the entire wad, I would use a 24 gauge nitro card directly on top of the powder under the plastic wad and you won't have to be concerned about a pressure increase.
If you are only looking to raise the shot column height put the nitro card inside the plastic shot cup under the shot. (For a 16 gauge a 28 gauge nitro card fits best in a plastic one piece wad.) That is the place where it will not disrupt the pattern. A nitro card on top of the shot can and will disrupt the pattern. How much? You would have to pattern the load to know.
How you are using the nitro card? Sure would be a big help to be able to give you better advice. |

You are adding VOLUME not WEIGHT. |

The question arises from data posted with 16NC in the comments |
