Practice about 15-20x per year, twice around the skeet field each time. Not so much this year and no registered, I did make it to Missouri for the vintage shoot. Should have practiced low-gun a heck of a lot more than I did. |

I am on a team in the Eastern CT Skeet Club and shoot the winter league. I shoot wobble skeet about twice a month, regular skeet almost every week from September to April and League Skeet ever other week from October until April. The rest of the time shoot sporting clays. Total targets in all maybe 5,000 to 6,000 per year. If I had more free time I would double that or more like I used to. |

I shoot two or three International skeet shoots a year. The rest of the time it's American skeet, gun down or sporting clays/5 stand. 200 targets a week.

I used to shoot skeet back in the mid 80's but gave it up. Too many other off season pursuits.

Nothing but Vintage Sporting Skeet for years: low gun, delay pull; 2 highs stations 1 & 2, doubles high-low, low-high 3 & 4, doubles low-high, high-low 5, 2 lows 6 & 7, and backwards 8 taking the target from the house behind me (haven't been beaned as yet ) Should have 2 extra shells to shoot at a big piece (or a missed target twice )
Nothing like this would ever happen to me
Alot of this though

I practice skeet all the time (in fact I shot two different times yesterday!), but it's usually with an O/U, and by modern American Skeet rules. I do shoot competitively at least a few times a year, a I will go to the Worlds Skeet Shoot next month.
I generally only shoot Vintage with my SxS when I'm getting ready for hunting season. |

Thanks guys for all of the great posts! It seems that skeet is still the best game for wingshooters and it's also my favorite. Best of luck to all of you this bird season
Thanks again for your imput Good luck at the World BPGuy! I wished I was going with you, but used up all my vacation shooting skeet and hunting |

I try to shoot a couple of rounds of skeet a week. I shoot low gun, mostly with my 1972 LH 870 and 3/4 oz loads - occasionally with my riot gun or sxs 16. |
